Program description
Students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to perform human resource functions within domestic andÌýinternational business environments. Students prepare to implement andÌýevaluate plans for staffing, performance management, training, employee and labourÌýrelations, health and safety, and benefits and compensation administration functions. They also learn to apply communication, information technology, teamwork,Ìýleadership and organizational development strategies to support the human resourcesÌýactivities of an organization. They acquire the competency to contribute to a number of more complexÌýfunctions supporting organizational effectiveness, including applying principles ofÌýfinancial analysis and control, collaborating in the design of an organization’s humanÌýresources plan, and in the preparation of an organization’s business plan.

What are the admission requirements for the Business Administration – Human Resources program?
Business Administration – Human Resources admission requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status
- Grade 12 English (C or U)
- any Grade 111 or 12 Mathematics (C, M or U)

Minimum of 60% in Grade 11 College or University level Mathematics (MBF3C orÌýMCF3M)Ìý
Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home schoolÌýapplicants may also be considered for admission. Eligibility may be met by applicantsÌýwho have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing. Additional information
In order to broaden the program choices, all General, Accounting, Human Resources,Ìýand Marketing students, whether they are in a two-year or a three-year diplomaÌýprogram, will share a common first semester. Students will take five mandatory coursesÌýin that semester, and will have a choice of which General Education course they wish toÌýtake. The curriculum for this common first semester is as follows:
