Enhance your management skills!
This program focuses on the needs of leaders and managers in today鈥檚 challenging, competitive and dynamic environment. It covers a wide range of topics and focuses on the skills used by managers in everyday decision making and problem solving.
This program will be of interest to anyone who:
- is currently employed in a management capacity
- expects to assume management responsibilities in the near future
- simply seeks to understand their work environment and improve their performance in their current job.
Completion of the series will provide a solid knowledge base and help participants to develop both management skills and broad business knowledge.

What courses are included in the Management Essentials program?
Complete eight of the modules聽and receive the Management Essentials Micro-certificate and a Statement of Completion, or聽just complete the modules that interest you.
Note: Each module is open for the entire semester. Participants are able to register and take the module at any time during the semester. The module is expected to take up to six hours in total to complete but there is no time limit, as long as the module is completed by the last day of the semester.

How do I apply to the Management Essentials program?
Register on a course-by-course basis, paying as you go
Part-time students do not go through an application process for this program.聽To register for courses, you鈥檒l need a 51视频 Lifelong Learning account.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Finance and fees
As a part-time student, you may be eligible for OSAP funding, depending on the number of courses you take per semester.

As a part-time student, you can take one to three courses per semester, paying on a course-by-course basis.

Online learning
These courses are offered through OntarioLearn. Visit the OntarioLearn webpage to learn more.
OntarioLearn courses are set up as equivalents to the 51视频courses. You can choose to take the ODE courses or the 51视频courses.
When a 51视频course isn鈥檛 available to be delivered online, we鈥檝e listed an OntarioLearn course in the delivery schedule. The majority of the 51视频courses have ODE equivalents set up. You can choose to take either course.
Credit for Prior Learning (CPL)
Previous postsecondary education: If you鈥檝e completed courses, or some or all of a program, at another accredited postsecondary institution, you may be able to transfer all or some of your courses into a related program at Georgian.
Relevant work or life experience: If you have relevant work and/or life experience that relates to your program(s) of interest at Georgian, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is an academic credit option.
