Important tax dates
As a student at Georgian, you may be required to file income tax. To help with this, the college provides tax forms that report your tuition payments, scholarships, bursaries, and other financial assistance. These forms can be used to claim tax credits and report taxable income to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
This page provides details on the different tax forms available, how to access them, important deadlines, and troubleshooting tips.

T2202 鈥 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate
What is a T2202?
础听T2202 (Tuition and Enrolment Certificate)聽is an official tax document issued by educational institutions to students who have paid eligible tuition fees. This form allows students to claim聽tuition tax credits聽and, if applicable, transfer unused portions to parents, grandparents, spouses, or common-law partners.
Who is eligible?
Students who have paid聽tuition fees聽for eligible programs at 51视频 during the tax year.
How to access your T2202 form:
- Login to Banner. Enter your User Name and Password.
- Click on 鈥淐anadian Tax Forms.鈥
- Select 鈥淭2202 鈥 Tuition and Enrolment Certificate.鈥
- Choose the tax year you need
- Print or save a copy for your tax filing.
Two options will be available:- View Data聽鈥 this is not an official receipt and is for information purposes only
- Printable Form聽鈥 make this selection聽only聽if you鈥檙e ready to print the receipt
How to print your T2202 form:
- 厂别濒别肠迟听Printable Form, then click聽Submit聽(if you select聽Continue, this will mark your taxation record as printed 鈥 if not printed at this time, any subsequent receipts will be marked聽Duplicate)

The receipt will print on two pages:
- Page 1聽鈥 Tuition and Education Amount Certificate
- Page 2聽鈥 Designation for the transfer of an amount to spouse or common-law partner, parent or grandparent
If you鈥檙e the parent of a 51视频student, you鈥檒l need to have your student access the T2202 and print it for you. Students must use the T2202 on their own tax return until the federal tax payable is reduced to 0, after which the student may then transfer the balance of the credit to another eligible party using the reverse side of the T2202 form, as per the Income Tax Act. Transferring the balance of the credit to another eligible party requires the student鈥檚 signature.
T4a 鈥 Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity, and Other Income
What is a T4a?
A T4a statement is issued to students who received taxable financial assistance, including:
- Scholarships
- Bursaries
- Grants
- Other awards or financial aid
- If you received a financial award from 51视频, it must be reported on your income tax return.
Who is eligible?
Students who received financial assistance from the college in the form of scholarships, bursaries, or awards in the tax year.
How to access your T4a form on Banner:
- Login to Banner.
- Click on 鈥淐anadian Tax Forms.鈥
- Click on 鈥淭4补.鈥
- Select the tax year you need (as of 2024, this will be the first year available online).
- Click on 鈥淭4a 鈥 Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity, and Other Income.鈥
- Click on 鈥淧rintable version.鈥 A PDF will pop up with your T4a statement, either save or print.

Common issues & troubleshooting
- Ensure you are entering your correct student credentials.
- If you forgot your password, use the password reset option.
- If you are locked out, contact IT Support for assistance.
- Use the聽51视频Password Management Service聽to reset your password.
- If your Banner account has been disabled, you鈥檒l need to聽contact IT Support.
- Students may email a print request to Georgian鈥檚聽Accounting department at accounting@georgiancollege.ca. The request must include the student鈥檚 name, ID number and the year being requested. Receipts will be mailed out by Canada Post as soon as possible, usually within seven business days. There is a $10 fee for this service. Please be aware that we are unable to make courier or pick-up arrangements.
- Confirm that you paid tuition fees or received taxable financial aid in the tax year.
- The T2202 will reflect only eligible fees as per Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Receipts issued in Feb. will cover only terms or sessions attended during the prior calendar year. Amounts paid in November relating to the following winter semester won鈥檛 be included until the next year.
- Fees that are not eligible to claim include: student association fees, alumni fees, athletic fees, textbooks, goods of lasting value that you keep.
- According to Canada Revenue Agency, a student in an applied degree or work term is considered eligible for the education amount only during the months attending the educational institution. Therefore, students who are on their work terms are not eligible for the education amount during those months.
- If you believe there is an error on your form, contact accounting@georgiancollege.ca聽or 705.722.5147 (option 5).
- Please remember, there is an official college policy and federal and provincial legislation regarding the release of student information which is intended to protect the student鈥檚 right to privacy and the confidentiality of his/her record.
- You may submit these forms with your income tax even if the address is incorrect. We do, however, request that you update your address with us.
- Please聽contact us聽to make changes to your address, telephone number, etc.
Students enrolled in a course or program through the Lifelong Learning System, Georgian鈥檚 Student Management System for Continuing Education, Motorcycle and Centre for Marine Training and Research who are looking to obtain their T2202 can do by accessing their self-service student account within the Lifelong Learning System.
If you are a student who has completed a corporate training offering through an employer, you are not eligible for a T2202.

If you are a student who has completed a corporate training offering through an employer, you are not eligible for a T2202.
